This is a place where we can all come together and talk about major media franchises and how they affect culture and the reverse. Here at the Study Room, we believe that media matters, that representation matters, and that the stories we tell shape the people we become.
About Us
The Study Room is made up of just me, Aslam Choudhury, though I’m always on the lookout for collaborators. I’m a writer and lawyer who enjoys storytellying and talking deeply about film, television, music, podcasts, video games, and streaming (among other things). My goal isn’t to just critique, but to dive deeply into blockbusters and find the meaning. I want to add something new and positive to the discussion about major movie franchises and everything else media. Whether it be Star Wars, Marvel, DC, independent films, non-franchise, podcasts, video games. If it’s media, if it’s art, I want to get into it. I want to talk about how they’ve been influenced by the events surrounding them, how they affect us as viewers and “passive participants”, and really analyze themes and characters presented within the media.
This blog is a place where everyone of all different walks of life are welcome as we celebrate the movies and shows that reflect society.
